Welcome to Jaaneman Art, the creative home of artist, illustrator, bookbinder and creative guide Jane Marin.
Creativity has been the thread running through my life for as long as I can remember. Whether I'm painting, illustrating oracle cards, binding books by hand or gathering people around a table to create together, I'm continually drawn to the simple act of making something with my hands.
From my studio on our family farm in regional Queensland, I create original artwork, handcrafted journals and sketchbooks, illustrations, and creative experiences inspired by nature, mythology, history and the quiet beauty found in everyday moments. My work reflects a love of texture, story and craftsmanship, with each piece made slowly, thoughtfully and designed to be used, treasured and lived with.Alongside my creative practice, I write about the realities of living as an AuDHD artist and the ways creativity has helped me navigate burnout, rediscover balance and build a life that honours both curiosity and capacity. These experiences naturally flow into my workshops, where the focus is not on producing perfect artwork, but on making space to explore, experiment and reconnect with your own creative voice.

Why Jaaneman Art?
People often ask about the name Jaaneman Art.
Years ago, when I began sharing my work professionally, I chose the name as a way of expressing something about myself that I found difficult to put into words. Jaan is a word meaning life, soul, essence, spirit and heart, and Jaaneman became my own way of saying that my art is "the soul of me."
Looking back, I can also see that the name gave me somewhere to stand while keeping myself in the background.
Today, that feels different.
As my creative journey has evolved, I've become more comfortable simply sharing my work as Jane Marin—artist, illustrator, bookbinder and creative guide. The website still carries the name Jaaneman Art, not only because it's become my creative home over many years, but because it reminds me of where that journey began.
In many ways, Jaaneman still represents the heart behind everything I create.
