Gather & Create – Hamsa: The Hand of Protection

A Full-Day Mixed Media Canvas Workshop

Join me for a colourful and creative day at the Shed Studio as we explore the ancient symbolism of the Hamsa and create our own beautiful mixed media artwork on canvas.

The Hamsa, also known as the Hand of Fatima or Hand of Miriam, is an ancient symbol found across many cultures. Traditionally associated with protection, blessings, good fortune, strength and peace, it is often depicted as an open hand with an eye in the centre.

During this full-day workshop, I'll guide you through the process of creating your own Hamsa-inspired artwork, using layers of colour, pattern, texture and decorative detail to bring your canvas to life.

We'll explore mixed media techniques, combining painting and decorative elements to create a richly coloured, individual piece that reflects your own creativity and personal interpretation of this beautiful symbol.

This workshop is suitable for everyone, from complete beginners to experienced artists. No previous experience is necessary, just a willingness to explore, experiment and enjoy the creative process.

We'll work at an unhurried pace in the relaxed surroundings of the Shed Studio, with plenty of individual guidance and a delicious morning tea provided by Sam from Gillens Creek Garden.
